Web Video: The Emer Swift 2013 edit!!!

The Emer Swift 2013 edit from emer bmx on Vimeo.

This is the Emer Swift 2013 edit which showcases Johann Chan’s cruiser project – the ‘Swift‘. The Swift project was Johann’s endeavour to develop a 24″ Cruiser with modern day BMX geometry. The bike looks to ride very well – probably thanks to the super short back end! The Swift frameset can be purchased from Emer Bicycles – ‘Emer’ is Johann’s label which focuses on a range of design ideas and solutions. Back in 2010 we Interviewed Johann Chan… You should check it! Click contiunue reading to view what Johann had to say about the Swift frame! – VS

“The Swift project started from yearning for a fast cruiser. After spending most of my childhood (and adulthood) gazing at chrome Hutchs, a short stint with old school cruisers was to be short-lived after finding out they rode – well – a bit old school. After thinking of a few tweaks to make it faster and more agile, it was apparent that a new redesign was in order. The Swift design was to replicate modern BMX geometry, and as far as we know- it is still the only cruiser to run a 13.75 chainstay length. Here’s a short video of Brixton Billy, Chico Hooke & Will Herman taking a break from their 20″s, riding the Swift and making use of the short back end.” – Johann
